I am one of the proponents of anti-Feminism. The reason I chose to tread the path is because Feminism, as an ideology, just like the screeching force of Capitalism, it’s acts and styles, have never meant well for our society and country.
Can I tell you this? FEMINISM is far beyond the usual lifting of pla-cards by female activists which you see on Television. It is more than the usual perception of equal social, political, economic rights for women and agitations carried out in like manner; which is their battle cry. It is more than the female talk show and gender debates where awards are issued to best female speakers and women who have demonstrated outstanding masculinity in the society, by overthrowing men and taking over the platform.
On a more global platform, there is this issue which plays out often of which you need no soothsayer in order to believe that it is the handwriting of Feminists. There is this scene which feminists create to make them (women) feel they are dejected and dis-privileged. They would want you and me to see a world of women and children who have been rendered homeless as a result of war strikes, natural disasters and civil crisis all over the world. They would want you to see the poverty and wretchedness which besiege women in the locales and especially in the midst of broad-chested men in our society. They would show you a pictures and videos of malnourished juveniles, roughly clamed on the shoulders of their poorly-dressed mothers; so pitiable they were.
That is the sign post of FEMINISM. Have you ever seen them? That is what they display to cause you to capture the worst conditions women and children pass through, to drag your pity, sell the feminist ideology and win more souls to their outraged kingdom.
Well, may I put it plainly here that women’s right aren’t denied them! They have same stake as men in the world we live. Good to know, the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria further informs a more-modest society; one which gives women the sense of been like others in the daily plays and chores; one which guarantees a deep-down-the-trunk operation for both genders in the country without segregation or differentiation.
We have a society which dishes out its virtues, values and dividends to every sector of its territory; to every platform of socio-political existence; one which proposes a desk of policies which has no registration of gender fixes and sentiments. That is what we have in Nigeria.
In Nigeria, no gender is dis-privileged. No gender is mistreated nor counted as naught in the midst of others.
Now, lets’ look at what FEMINISM stands for. It stands for a country where there must be a woman President. Well, there is nothing wrong having a female President in Nigeria. But Feminists will want you to believe that the females are mistreated because Nigeria has not had any female president.
Feminism stands for a county where women must take up political roles and offices just like men. It stands for a country where the women must share the state 50:50 with men! It stands for a state where the Governor’s wife will jump over the head of his husband and take over the mantle of leadership in the state. It stands for a county where the First Lady will surmount the political, administrative and traditional powers of her husband, jump into the desks of presidential operations, take decisions in the state, command the state forces, plough and plough the country and make her lily-livered husband a mere spectator.
That is Feminism for you! It stands for country where the First Lady will jump from state to state, breathing threats on the state Governors and politicians who have different political views from that of her husband. It stands for a Student Union where the women will swear to take up the helm of affairs; take up other key and sensitive position in the Students Union and leave the men as power fads and spectators. It stands for a school where the female lecturers will stamp their feet to the floor and insist on taking up the school’s leadership, leaving the male lecturers as wagers. That is feminism in action!
As we celebrate the Women achievers in the world, we should challenge Nigerian women to explore and take the best chances in the society that suit their individual passions rather than been led by the nose by hypnotists of Feminism. The women should stay focused on their God-given chore of nurturing the future leaders from the fresh milks of their breasts. They should stick to their most vital responsibilities of establishing a more competitive social platform for girl-child training and development to reduce the rebounding rate of teenage marriage, teenage pregnancy, abortion, prostitution and other social inadequacies which mare our social identity.
As we celebrate Nigerian women achievers, it should be a time we join the herald and say: ‘Yes’ when it comes to Gender Equality; ‘Yes’, when it comes to Gender sensitivity; ‘Yes’ when it comes to the call to rise and defend that woman whose husband has abandoned on the streets;
It should be a time to rise and say ‘Yes’ to the call to protect the young and old widows from victimization by her militant in-laws; ‘Yes’ to the call to send our female children to the classrooms; ‘Yes’ to the call to protect that collage kid who is been victimized by her sex-lorded teacher(s) in school and class rooms.
Also, this is a time we should stand up and say ‘No’ to the Feminist movements that traverse sea and land to train up female anarchists who will position on the edge to combat powers with men and political leaders. That is what we are saying.
We are saying “Yes” to gender equality and “No” to FEMINISM!
